NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y.-  Niagara University hosted their sixth annual Scholarship Invitational on Jan. 20 and 27. The invitation-only event allows the opportunity for prospective students to interview with a team of Niagara University members for an additional scholarship.

In total, 240 students are invited to attend the event. Invitations are given to those with top academic achievement, based off of the students’ GPA and standardized test results.  Throughout the day, interviews and information sessions are offered. Each student who attends has a private interview with a team of three people. Most groups consist of a faculty member, staff member and an honor student of the prospective students’ major. Representatives from various clubs, organizations and campus programs also are in attendance to show students and families all that Niagara University has to offer. Tours of the campus and residence halls are also given throughout the day.

“The scholarship invitational gives our interviewers a glimpse of the amazing accomplishments and experiences that these students have had. They open themselves up, share their experiences and blow the interview teams away,” said Niagara University’s Associate Director of Admissions & Event Coordinator, Sara Villnave. “This event goes beyond academic capabilities. Year after year, this event shows us that these students are a part of something bigger than themselves and it is also a reminder of how lucky we are that these students choose us.”
