LEWISTON, N.Y.- On Apr. 4, Artpark announced four shows that help to fill out the venue’s schedule for the upcoming summer. Of the four shows, three of them have been announced as double-bills, similar to many of the shows in recent years.
First up on June 20 is Randy Bachman and 54-40, both of which are inductees to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Bachman, known for songs such as “Takin’ Care of Business,” is a frequent visitor to the area, and just last month held two performances at Fallsview Casino over the border. Following that concert up the following week is Brian Setzer’s Rockabilly Riot and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Setzer is sure to make a splash, as he to is a frequent visitor to the area, as he headlines a popular annual show around Christmas at the UB Center for the Arts.
On Aug. 1, George Thorogood and 38 Special will return to the area once again. Thorogood, famous for the song “Bad to the Bone,” has headlined the series in the past dating back to 2010 and 2011. Finally, after having to cancel last summer’s show due to illness, Lynyrd Skynyrd will come to Lewiston. In 2011, the band, along with ZZ Top, held a concert that became infamous after a massive traffic jam leaving many of those in attendance unable to get in until near the end of the show. The more recent versions of the shows in 2013 and 2015 did not have these problems at Artpark then started charging admission for entry.
