The Castellani Art Museum holds April Fool’s Day Challenge
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Castellani Art Museum hosted an April Fool’s Day Challenge for NU students on Mon. March 27 through Fri. March 31. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt in the museum between 11 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for a chance to win prizes.
Students who took part went to the front desk of the museum where they received a packet full of pictures of art with questions that could only be solved by exploring the different exhibits the Castellani offers. They were asked to identify the titles of works, artists, origins of artists, and medium for certain pieces while going through the galleries. Some questions were harder to answer than others, but all could be discovered by observing the acclaimed art on display right on campus.
The activity also included the attempt to locate and name a fake artifact hanging somewhere in the museum, a task that required a little extra investigative skill and knowledge of art.
The event was free for NU students and faculty. The prizes given away included a Barnes & Noble gift card, Chipotle gift cards, and NU and museum merchandise.
The winners were announced on the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University Facebook page on April Fool’s Day. Jake Eberth, Lauren Moloney, Zachary Reae, and Megan Rogers were among the winners.
