Both of Niagara University’s tennis teams were busy this weekend as the women were able to complete their first win within the MAAC. Sharlee Deshmukh and Shannon Wong were able to defeat Alexandra Graff and Victoria Nugent of Monmouth 6-2. Ali Hutchinson and Sansriti Ranjan also won their match in No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-3.
Unfortunately for the Niagara men they lost this weekend by a score of 7-0 to Monmouth. The Purple Eagles lost doubles points as they fell in their No. 1 and No. 3 double matches.
So far on the season the women’s and men’s records stand at 3-13 and 4-13, respectively. Both teams resume their seasons this weekend as they travel to Marist College Friday, April 7.
