The Niagara University lacrosse team was able to bounce back from its close loss on Wednesday to beat divisional opponent Iona this Sunday by a final score of 11-9. The team now improves their record to 4-4 on the season.
Jillian Ford led the Purple Eagles in scoring with three goals on the day. Samantha Brill and Alexis Morales also contributed to the effort each scoring a pair of goals. Rachel MacCheyne led the team with two assists. Iona’s scoring attack was led by Jenna Tolzmann who had three goals.
Niagara continues their season on Tuesday as they travel to Rutgers University as they hope to improve to over .500 for the first time this season.
